INSTRUCTIONS FOR NETI LOTA POT

This nasal lavage comes from the practice of Yoga. It clears the sinuses, can reduce post-nasal drip, and
normalizes pressure of the inner ear. For chronic sinus congestion, a daily treatment with sea salt is
recommended. Hydrastis (goldenseal) can be added for a short-term (up to one week) to avoid sinus infections.

To Prepare the Neti Lota Pot:

1. Fill neti lota pot with bottled or filtered water that has been heated to body temp.

2. Add 1/3 teaspoon sea salt per cup water.

3. (Optional) Add 5 to 10 drops of liquid hydrastis (non-alcohol extract of goldenseal) per cup of water.

In a Steamy, Warm Shower:

1. Wait until your sinuses begin to clear a bit.

2. Lean forward and tilt your head to one side.

3. Place the spout in the upper nostril; keep your mouth open so that you can breath through your mouth.

4. Pour the water through the upper nostril so that it drains through the other nostril - you may need to change
the angle of your head.

5. Once the water has run freely through one nostril, change sides and do the other.
